This weekend saw the debut of a brand-spanking new trailer for 'True Blood' season 6, offering up our best look yet at the new episodes premiering on June 16. The new season will pick up where previous finale "Save Yourself" left off, with Bill taking on a new form in the ongoing vampire human war, but what has the character truly become? Check out HBO's first synopses of upcoming 'True Blood' season 6 episodes to find out!

'True Blood' fans no doubt dropped their jaws to the floor when a blood-covered bill emerged from a pool of his own exploded guts, newly reborn with the strength of vampire goddess Lillith. The big season 7 cliffhanger left it unclear what exactly Bill had become, while the latest trailer seemed to suggest that Bill no longer shared certain vampire weaknesses, so what do the latest spoilers from the first three episodes reveal?

From HBO's official synopsis of 'True Blood' season 6:

Episode 6.01 - “Who Are You, Really?”

Bill’s bloody reincarnation ushers in a new era for vampires, faeries and humans alike. (Written by Raelle Tucker; directed by Stephen Moyer.) Playdates: June 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20

Episode 6.02 - The Sun

Sookie meets a handsome stranger; Eric takes on the governor; Bill contemplates his new powers. (Written by Angela Robinson; directed by Dan Attias.) Playdates: June 23, 24, 25, 26 and 27

Episode 6.03 - You’re No Good

Bill looks for a solution to an impending catastrophe; Eric takes a hostage, while Sam tries to recover one. (Written by Mark Hudis; directed by Howard Deutch.) Playdate: June 30

We're willing to bet that Sookie's handsome stranger is none other than her new Fae love interest, while Eric will no doubt find himself at odds with Louisiana governor Truman Burell, and later take an interest in his daughter. And who might Sam's hostage be - Emma or Luna?

Along with the showrunner swap changing from Mark Hudis to Bryan Buckner, season 5 guest star and former ‘Last Resort’ star Robert Patrick has been upgraded to series regular, while ‘True Blood’ season 6 also features the return of Anna Camp‘s Sarah Newlin, Luke Grimes as the “Jim Morrison of vampires,” ‘House‘s’ Karolina Wydra, Rutger Hauer as mysterious vampire Macklyn, ‘Rubicon’s’ Arliss Howard as  Louisiana Governor Truman Burrell, and ‘Eastenders’ star Robert Kazinsky as a series regular and new Fae love interest to Sookie.

Few other details are available on the sixth season of HBO’s fang-banging hit, though it’s known that ‘True Blood’ season 6 will take place over 10 episodes, down from the usual 12, largely to accommodate series star Anna Paquin’s pregnancy with co-star Stephen Moyer.
