17. ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’

Star Will Smith (yes, that Will Smith) created and performed the theme for his hit show 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.' The theme is a riff on the traditional television intro, which lays out the plot of the show, but Smith puts his signature hip-hop twist on the story of a cut-up from West Philadelphia sent to live with his aunt and uncle in Bel Air, Los Angeles. The show made Will Smith a household name and aired from 1990 to 1996.
