19. ‘Greatest American Hero’

The theme for 'Greatest American Hero' is a real feel-good classic. Performed by Joey Scarbury, the song features the lyrics, "Believe it or not, I'm walkin' on air/ I never thought I could feel so free/ Flying away on a wing and a prayer/ Who could it be? Believe it or not, it's just me." It's a great theme that captures the spirit of the show about a teacher visited by aliens who give him a red suit that grants him superpowers, turning him from an ordinary citizen into a hero. 'Greatest American Hero' ran for three seasons from 1981 to 1983.
