‘V/H/S: Viral’ Red-Band Trailer: The Found-Footage Series Is Back for a Third Round
With the ongoing success of the 'V/H/S' series, horror anthologies are officially back. There's something wonderfully old school about these types of movies, where instead of one narrative, we follow three to five completely separate stories. A great horror anthology is just pure pleasure: you get several great stories for the price of one. The first 'V/H/S' film brought this concept to the 21st century by making every segment found footage, and 'V/H/S 2' upped the ante in every way. So the third film in the franchise has a high bar to surpass and the new trailer makes us confident that they're doing everything in their power to do so.
With segments directed by Justin Benson, Gregg Bishop, Todd Lincoln, Aaron Moorhead, Marcel Sarmiento and Nacho Vigalondo, 'V/H/S: Viral' once again continues the trend of recruiting the best (and often unsung) horror talent from around the world and just letting them go wild. As you can see in the NSFW trailer above, which debuted over at IGN, "wild" isn't even the half of it. These movies are gleefully violent and deranged. Watching them is like watching a bunch of talented directors attempt to top each other one right after the other.
'V/H/S: Viral' arrives on iTunes and VOD on October 23, before opening in theaters on November 21.
