Where once HBO’s Vice Principals pit Danny McBride and Walton Goggins against one another in a low-stakes battle of wits, Season 2 is going full murder-mystery. See for yourself, as Neal Gamby hunts his would-be killer in an extended trailer for the September premiere.

HBO released a full trailer for the second (and final) season of Vice Principals, as the hunt for Gamby’s attacker leads him and Lee undercover to strange places, with suspects at every turn. And in case you thought it a dream, we’re pretty sure there’s an actual gosh-dang tiger in play. Check out the poster:

Ahead of a September 17 premiere, so reads the full Season 2 synopsis:

The tumultuous school year at North Jackson High continues and a new semester brings lots of changes. Gamby and Russell are about to learn that the only thing harder than gaining power is holding on to it, as the darkest comedy on television returns to finish what was started.

For those who missed the first season, McBride’s Vice Principals follows a high school and the people who “almost” run it, with McBride starring as Neal Gamby, the divorced vice principal in charge of discipline at the school. Goggins plays Lee Russell, vice principal of curriculum at North Jackson High, as both fought an epic power struggle vying for the top spot: to be school principal.

McBride executive produces alongside Jody Hill, co-creator David Gordon Green and Stephanie Laing, all Eastbound & Down alum. Watch the first teases below, and stay tuned for the latest on Vice Principals Season 2 in the meantime.
