Vin Diesel has been very coy when it comes to details regarding his ties with Marvel. He's teased possibilities before (is he starring in 'The Avengers 2'?!), but we've still yet to get anything resembling a confirmation. Well, we have now learned exactly what Marvel film he's joining, courtesy of the man himself. Is Vin lending his voice to one of the 'Guardians of the Galaxy'?

As usual, Diesel is playfully teasing his fans, posting just a picture on his Facebook page without comment, but Deadline confirms the news: Vin is in negotiations to join 'Guardians of the Galaxy' as the voice of Groot, the alien tree-creature who originally sought to capture humans for study, but ultimately teamed up with the Guardians to fight for good. In the film the character will be a completely digital creation, and it has one catchphrase - "I am Groot!" - which would obviously make Diesel's job quite easy. (You'll recall Diesel supplied the voice of another inhuman hero in 'Iron Giant'.)

Of course, we'll have to wait and see how reliable this tease is. It's possible Diesel is just referring to 'Guardians' in general, but not the Groot character itself. However, that picture seems pretty specific. And Vin wouldn't lie to us, would he?

What do you think? Is this perfect casting or were you still holding out hope for Vin as Thanos?
