Jason Bourne has a new nemesis to stab with pencils and swat with rolled-up magazines and desk lamps and whatnot.

According to Variety, Matt Damon’s arch-enemy in the next Bourne film will be French actor Vincent Cassel. Their sources say he “will play an assassin tracking Bourne,” although they have no additional details about the character or the movie’s story. If true, that would put Cassel in the impressive company alongside Clive Owen, Karl Urban, and Edgar Ramirez in the elite ranks of evil spies who’ve battled Jason Bourne in the previous installments of the Bourne saga.

Joining Damon and Cassel for the film will be franchise newcomers Alicia Vikander and Tommy Lee Jones, alongside returning castmember Julia Stiles (and returning director Paul Greengrass). Obviously Greengrass will invent an elaborate backstory for Cassel’s character, but I’m just going to pretend he’s playing The Night Fox, Cassel’s capoeira-loving master thief from Ocean’s Twelve. I can’t thing of any better motivation for his character in Bourne 5 than wanting revenge for his emasculating defeat at the hands of Damon and the rest of the Ocean crew. (This is probably why I don’t write screenplays for a living.)

Bourne 5 opens in theaters on July 29, 2016.
