It only took half a season, but The Walking Dead is finally ready to “Rise Up” against Negan and the Saviors when the AMC horror flagship returns in 2017. Following last night’s trailer, The Walking Dead is seeing red in the first Season 7B key art, while Robert Kirkman teases the mystery man (or woman) spying on Alexandria in the post-credits.

Not only does the 2017 key art finally bring together the whole gang (Morgan and Carol included), but the banner also cements that the second half of Season 7 will premiere on Sunday, February 12. Check it out below:

Of course, Season 7 will likely take some time assembling its post-apocalyptic avengers, which may or may not include a certain boot-wearing follower. Sunday’s “Hearts Still Beating” first introduced the character as a pair of boots on the ground watching Rick and Aaron float away with a survivalist’s boat (the initial implication being the figure himself was alive), while a post-credits scene revealed the same figure observing Gabriel on watch over Alexandria.

Naturally, suspicion could swing in any direction, from persistent rumors of comic villains “The Whisperers,” to the Oceanside community we met, Dwight or even Carol, but will Season 7 actually circle back to explain the figure? According to Robert Kirkman on Talking Dead, we’ll learn who wears the boots sooner, rather than later:

I really wish I could tell you. All I can say is that those boots, you’ll definitely recognize those from earlier—they’re connected to that boat scene—and you know, that’s a big part of what we’re dealing with when we come back next half of the season, so we’ll be revealing that soon. It’s going to be a great half season.

In the meantime, check out the trailer for the second half of Season 7 below, and stay tuned for the latest on The Walking Dead’s 2017 return.
