Filming is currently underway on War for the Planet of the Apes, with Rise of the Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves returning to helm the third installment in the revitalized trilogy. Today, Reeves revealed the official logo for the upcoming film, and teased a special “announcement” to air this Sunday during The Walking Dead on AMC. Hmm, what could it be?

Reeves posted the official logo on Twitter and encouraged fans to tune in to Sunday night’s episode of The Walking Dead for an announcement regarding the film:

It couldn’t be the first teaser — the film doesn’t hit theaters until summer 2017, and a year and a half out from the release is way, way, way too soon for actual footage. Could Reeves be announcing new cast members? A charity-drive contest for fans? An earlier release date (we wish)? Maybe he’s debuting a piece of viral marketing? It’s impossible to tell.

The director recently revealed the first set photo from the new Apes sequel, which featured imagery that looks familiar to fans of the classic franchise, with a character in mo-cap gear atop a horse (Andy Serkis’ Caesar, perhaps) on a beach. That image evoked the original Planet of the Apes and its shocking conclusion.

Along with Serkis, Judy Greer is returning to reprise her role as Cornelia, along with new cast members Woody Harrelson and Gabriel Chavarria (on the human side), and Steve Zahn (on the ape side).

War for the Planet of the Apes hits theaters on June 24, 2017.
