Thomas Jane premiered a new 'Punisher' short film, in which he reprises the role of Frank Castle alongside co-star Ron Perlman.  The short, titled 'Dirty Laundry,' played at Comic Con 2012 over the weekend. The catch? Marvel doesn't know about it (yet).

While the 'Punisher' films didn't perform very well at the box office, that hasn't stopped fans from admiring Thomas Jane's apt work as Frank Castle. During the Marvel panel at Comic Con it was confirmed that the studio had reacquired the rights to 'Punisher' (as well as 'Blade'), and they're looking into making a new film based on the character.

Jane played the iconic character in 2004's 'The Punisher,' and apparently has grown quite attached. The actor spoke about his new short film, 'Dirty Laundry':

I wanted to make a fan film for a character I've always loved and believed in -- a love letter to Frank Castle & his fans. It was an incredible experience with everyone on the project throwing in their time just for the fun of it. It's been a blast to be a part of from start to finish -- we hope the friends of Frank enjoy watching it as much as we did making it.

And that's it. No frills, no fuss -- just an honest-to-goodness short film created for the fans by a guy who loves the character just as much as they do. You can check out the NSFW short below:
