It's been a busy day for E!, as the network hosts its annual Upfront presentation in New York today. The celebrity-centric network unveiled a slate of nine new original scripted series. Adding to the good news was word that 'Khloe and Lamar' will be canceled after its second season. But the shoe had to drop at some point and drop it has. E! is giving Whitney Cummings a talk show.

The ubiquitous comedian is set to host 'Love You, Mean It with Whitney Cummings.' The network is hoping a lead-in from 'The Soup,' will make Cummings' talk show, which will air on Wednesdays at 10:30 PM, a hit. A premiere date has yet to be announced by the network plans to roll out the show later this year.

Said Cummings of the news:

"This show gives me a chance to get back to my stand-up roots. And I’m really excited to be able to say (almost) whatever I’d like on TV again."

According to E! the series will follow Whitney as she dishes on her favorite topics, trends and latest obsessions, ponders the wisdom of plastic surgery, the folly of miss-matched Hollywood romances or setting the record straight on pressing rumors circulating the web.

In the meantime, fans of Cummings' ribald humor can get their fill with '2 Broke Girls' and 'Whitney.' Or not.
