The following post contains SPOILERS for Avengers: Infinity War. If we want to get technical about it, it basically contains nothing but spoilers.

It all happens so fast. In the blink of an eye, Thanos wipes out half the universe and with it, many of your favorite members of the Avengers. We know it’s called Infinity War, but who expected the casualties to be so high?!? Not us.

So who survived? If you were so shocked by what was happening, we don’t blame you. And if that meant you couldn’t keep track of everyone who lived or died, that’s what we’re here for. So here’s the characters who definitely weren’t wiped out by Thanos in the Great Disappearance:

  • Iron Man
  • Thor
  • Captain America
  • Black Widow
  • Hulk/Bruce Banner
  • War Machine
  • Rocket Raccoon
  • Nebula
  • Okoye
  • M’Baku

There are two heroes in the movie whose fates are left unclear: Wong, last seen going back to the Sanctum Sanctorum in the beginning of the film, and Shuri, last seen getting attacked by one of Thanos’ minions. The final montage doesn’t reveal their fates. Plus there are numerous Marvel heroes who aren’t in this movie at all, who could still pop up in Avengers 4: Most significantly Ant-Man and Hawkeye, but also characters like Nakia, Sharon Carter, Everett Ross, and pretty much every single character from the history of Agents of SHIELD and Marvel’s Netflix series. (We’re guessing you won’t see anyone from those last two.)

We also didn’t get to see what happened to any of the non-super characters in Infinity War like Pepper Potts, William “Thunderbolt” Ross, and Peter Parker’s buddy Ned. Some or all of those names will be back for Avengers 4. But not Black Panther or Spider-Man. They’re definitely dead forever. Oh well. No more Spider-Man movies! Eh, he had a pretty good run.
