'X-Men: Days of Future Past' is looking to be Bryan Singer's version of 'The Avengers' and 'Justice League.' It's got a huge cast filled with members of the original 'X-Men' trilogy, members of 'First Class' and even some newbies, like Peter Dinklage. Oh, and there's Sentinels too! If that wasn't epic enough for you, the latest rumor out on the webosphere suggests this universe is about to be blown sky high by the introduction of major comic book baddie Apocalypse. But is there any truth to it?

Rumors of this villain's involvement began with a discussion between Bleeding Cool and Singer. When the director was asked if Apocalypse was being considered as a possible villain, "Singer’s face changed immediately" and his "nervous answer" was: "I can't tell you." When pressed even further, bringing up the possibility of motion capture to create the villain, Singer said, "This is how it gets started, when somebody starts piecing the little bits together."

Though by no means an official answer, it was enough to throw fans through a twirl (including us), considering the possibilities of bringing Apocalypse into the fold. Apocalypse's story line in the comic books does involve time travel and alternate timelines, and he does act as a Thanos ('The Avengers') and Darkseid ('Justice League')-type character that brings together the team of superheroes. (For an in-depth description of Apocalypse and his story in the 'X-Men' universe, check out the official Marvel website.)

However, with Peter Dinklage already set to play the main antagonist in 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' (and he won't be voicing a CG character), it doesn't seem like a possibility for this film, also considering the already grand-scale of it. But perhaps, if anything, Singer is setting us up for another 'X-Men' movie(?)

So far the 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' cast includes the likes of Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), James McAvoy (young Professor X), Michael Fassbender (young Magneto), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Patrick Stewart (old Professor X), Ian McKellen (old Magneto), Halle Berry (Storm), Shawn Ashmore (Iceman), Ellen Page (Kitty Pryde), Anna Paquin (Rogue) and Peter Dinklage (the primary antogonist)...among others.
