It seems that despite general apathy toward a sequel, Warner Bros. has decided that 'Yogi Bear' made enough money to warrant a sequel. And they've tapped director Jay Chandrasekhar of Broken Lizard fame to take the helm as they forge ahead on 'Yogi Bear 2.'

That's right. The bear, his picnic basket, and his silly nephew Boo Boo are coming back (oh, you know there's just a Honey Boo Boo joke waiting to happen with this one) for a second helping. Deadline reports that Warner Bros. is moving forward with 'Yogi Bear 2,' and they've hired Jay Chandrasekhar to direct. Chandrasekhar's resume includes the Broken Lizard flicks, this year's underwhelming 'The Babymakers,' and episodes of 'Arrested Development' and 'Community.'

The director will also be rewriting the project, as the studio hopes to bring a little of his signature crude humor into the mix. While it's unknown if the original cast will return at this time, it's safe to say that we're getting yet another film that will keep Justin Timberlake from making a new album. Abandon all hope, ye who enter Yellowstone Park.

The first film grossed over $200 million at the box office, and while it certainly wasn't a hit with critics, that money is enough for the studio to justify a sequel. Remember folks, you vote with your dollars. Only YOU can prevent unwanted sequels (and forest fires).
