Anytime a script from the Black List (the annual compilation of the best un-produced screenplays floating around Hollywood) actually moves forward, it deserves at least some of your attention. So lend 'Are We Officially Dating?' an eyeball or two...even if it's going to star Zac Efron.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film "...revolves around three friends in New York City who make a pact to remain single just as each starts to fall in love." The screenplay was the top-rated comedy on on the 2010 Black List, so we can safely assume that there's more going on beneath the surface of that standard rom-com premise...even though it's going to star Zac Efron.

Tom Gormican, who wrote the script, will also be directing and Treehouse Pictures will be producing. The film will be shopped at this year's Toronto Film Festival, where it has a strong chance of finding a distributor...mainly because it 's going to star Zac Efron.
