‘Zombies Vs. Gladiators’ Is an Actual Movie (and Clive Barker is Writing It)
The trend of some sort of fictional creature fighting the other isn't dying off anytime soon. Why do we say that? Because Amazon Studios is moving ahead with their latest movie 'Zombies vs. Gladiators,' and they found the perfect guy to rewrite their story.
'Hellraiser' creator Clive Barker was just recently hired by Amazon Studios to rewrite their latest horror action flick. This is a bit of a surprise, considering that Barker has more or less bowed out of the movie writing scene years ago and continues his creative work through illustrations. There must be something truly wonderful about this story that has Barker interested to this degree.
When addressed about writing 'Zombies vs. Gladiators,' Barker said the following:
I’m excited by the opportunity to interweave two very rich narrative threads. One of them concerns itself with the reality of the decadence of Rome and its rise and fall. The other is a fantastical narrative element - the living dead. My brief to myself on this project is to give the audience not only zombies they have never seen before but also a Rome they have never seen before.
'Zombies vs. Gladiators' is set in ancient Rome where a shaman is set to die in the Coliseum. Before he meets his untimely demise, he casts a spell and unleashes the world's first zombies. It's up to a gladiator in order to stop the wave of zombies and save Rome.
It sounds so ridiculous it...might actually work? Are you interested in seeing Clive Barker's 'Zombies vs. Gladiators'?
