Magic Mike 2

‘Magic Mike’ was a perfect storm of a movie. For some of the moviegoing population, it was a chance to load yourself up with frozen margaritas and go watch a bunch of extremely attractive, chiseled men strut their stuff on camera. For cinephiles, it was the next film from the ever-versatile genius Steven Soderbergh, whose filmography is littered with experimental and pop masterpieces alike. It was a big hit, a sequel was greenlit, and now, the first ‘Magic Mike XXL’ poster has arrived, placing returning star Channing Tatum (and his abs) front and center.

'Magic Mike 2' is in full swing! With the official cast firmed up, and Channing Tatum and his boys returning for another round of twerking and gyration, production on the sequel has commenced in Savannah, Georgia, and we've got the first set photos for your enjoyment. While we've been hearing from star Channing Tatum for some time that 'Magic Mike 2' is in the works, even though original director Steven Soderbergh has since retired from making movies, now we've got something more official to go on: the film has been given a very delightful and appropriate title, and a director has officially been chosen to choreograph all those new dance routines.

With an opening weekend of $39 million and a total worldwide total of over $154 million, Steven Soderbergh's 'Magic Mike' ended up being one of this summer's most unexpected hits. (Even more so when considering its reported $7 million budget.) As is the case with any hit, a sequel is a no-brainer, and of course said sequel must raise the stakes and take our characters somewhere new and - in the ca
