‘Arrow’ Wolfs Out in First Official Live-Action ‘Vixen’ Photo, Details
Late last night saw Arrow head Stephen Amell teasing a first look at Megalyn Echikunwoke (or E.K.) reprising her animated Vixen role for an upcoming episode, but the full reveal is pure magic. See Mari McCabe suited up and wolfing out in our first official photo tease of Vixen’s upcoming debut, “Taken”!
The CW shared a first look at E.K. in action after Amell’s Twitter tease, confirming a few aesthetic changes from the close-cropped, skintight DC hero’s animated incarnation. Executive producer Wendy Mericle offered a bit of intel on the appearance, which, not unlike Constantine’s, asks:
One of the things we’ve been exploring this season is, ‘How does Oliver deal with magic, specifically with Damien?,’ and [Vixen] comes in for a very high-stakes, amazing episode.
The CW’s live-action Vixen will appear in Arrow Season 4’s fifteenth episode on February 24, while the animated CW Seed series has been renewed for Season 2 as well. For those unfamiliar with the character, Vixen (real name Mari McCabe) gains her powers from a Tantu Totem inherited from her parents, which grants her the abilities of any animal.
In the meantime, check out the latest trailers for next week’s “A.W.O.L.” and Season 4 beyond below, and stay tuned for further looks at Megalyn Echikunwoke’s Vixen in live-action.
