Bruce Willis Is Tired of Getting Shot At, Says He’s “Bored” With Action Movies

If Bruce Willis wasn't feeling enough heat for his recent feud with Sylvester Stallone -- it actually isn't much of a feud since it's pretty one-sided -- the actor is sure to feel the glare of the spotlight a bit more now with his recent comments about the action movies for which he's so well known. He says he's now bored of explosions but still likes earning those big paychecks for running away from them.

In an interview with Spanish magazine XLS (via Mirror.co.uk), the notoriously difficult interview subject came clean rather frankly, making it clear he's quite over the genre that has made him such a rich and famous man:

Explosions are one of the most boring parts of my job. When you have seen a few fireballs, it's not exciting anymore. I know part of my audience enjoys the explosions, but to be honest, I’m a bit bored of it now... I am very clear with who I am. I work in all sorts of films, but the action movies are the ones that generate the most revenue. I like to earn lots of money from those, but I do all types: small productions, megaprojects, medium sized, even science fiction.

If you think the bit about the money comes off as a little haughty, don't worry. Willis claims he doesn't actually care about the Benjamins, even after recent reports say he turned down a role in 'Expendables 3' due to a small ($3 million instead of $4 million) paycheck.

I only think about money in moments like this, when another person mentions that I am a rich man. I’m not someone who spends the whole day counting bank notes.

It remains to be seen if Bruce will still be bored when 'Die Hard 6' comes around; that film has been rumored all year but does not yet have a greenlight. After that last installment, can you blame the man for wanting to take a knee on shootouts and wanton carnage? Additionally, his latest action blast, 'Red 2,' failed to set the world on fire, stumbling with critics and not yet reaching $100 million in revenue worldwide.
