An ad spot for Dead Island: Riptide has been removed from Australian television because of its depiction of suicide.

In the video above, a couple stand hopelessly together as a wave of zombies crawl all over their ship. In an attempt to save themselves from the grisly fate of being turned into food for the undead, they choose to ignite the gas around them in order to take out everything in and around the boat.

According to CVG, the Australian Advertising Standards Board received complaints about the ad due to the suicidal act present in the footage.

The Board said that "the issue of suicide is a depiction of violence which is not justifiable even in the context of an advertisement for a computer game aimed at adults."

Because of these reasons, the ad has now been banned. You can watch the controversial above, but please be warned that it does contain a depiction of suicide.

Let us know whether or not you agree with it being banned by sounding off in the comments below.
