Blade Runner 2049 won’t be the only Philip K. Dick spinner taking off this weekend – Amazon has their own Electric Dreams to premiere. Check out the star-studded first trailer for the new Black Mirror-esque anthology, featuring everyone from Steve Buscemi to Janelle Monáe.
The Margaret Atwood Cinematic Universe of dangerous women in bonnets continues to thrive. Netflix’s six’s part adaptation of Alias Grace has a first trailer for the November premiere, featuring stars Sarah Gadon, Zachary Levi and Anna Paquin.
We’ve long wondered what, if any connection FOX’s Bryan Singer-directed X-Men drama might have to the movie franchise, though the latest dips a bit outside its reality. True Blood alum Stephen Moyer (as well as Rogue one Anna Paquin’s husband) will topline the mutant drama, albeit in a brand-new role.
The 15th anniversary of Almost Famous is approaching, and to celebrate, director Cameron Crowe has been sharing some rare behind the scenes photos and artwork from his acclaimed semi-autobiographical drama. It’s hard to believe it’s been 15 years since the world was introduced to Stillwater, the Enemy, and the manic pixie stylings of Kate Hudson. But yes, you’re older now. Don’t be so shocked.
Both Sons of Anarchy and True Blood have gotten far enough in the rear-view mirror that we’re looking ahead to Kurt Sutter’s FX Bastard Executioner on the horizon, but it seems the former two almost had an insanely weird crossover. Not only had True Blood couple Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin sought roles in the final ride of Sons of Anarchy, but with a much less healthy relationship than real life.
20th Century Fox is finally releasing the Rogue Cut of X-Men: Days of Future Past next month, re-incorporating the scenes featuring Anna Paquin’s Rogue, which director Bryan Singer had to leave on the cutting room floor. Singer previously explained that the Rogue scenes were excised because they were “extraneous,” but that didn’t stop fans from wanting to see the alternate version. Fox has released a clip from the Rogue Cut to give you a little taste of what that version will look like.
It’s possible to talk about Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur without bringing up its troubled production, but it’s difficult. Aside from one very cute teaser trailer, everything we’ve heard about this movie has revolved around massive delays and directors being replaced and the story being radically reworked. Even the newly revealed voice cast includes major changes – Pixar has revealed the “official” cast for this movie before and it looked very, very different.
Late last year we learned that Fox was planning to release a “Rogue Cut” of X-Men: Days of Future Past, which would include previously deleted footage of Anna Paquin’s Rogue, whose story arc had been removed from the film due to time constraints. If you’re a fan of Rogue, then the planned release of the Rogue Cut is great news. But just how much footage are we talking here? Five minutes? An entire 20 minute chunk? The answer is about 11 minutes. That’s 11 minutes of previously unseen Anna Paquin action!
Not long before ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ hit theaters, we heard that Anna Paquin’s scenes as beloved mutant Rogue had been excised from the film due to time constraints. We also heard that the scenes featuring Rogue would have made for a slightly different viewing experience. Fox planned to release the deleted scenes and there was talk of releasing a “Rogue Cut” with Paquin’s scenes restored to the movie, but they were curiously absent from the DVD/Blu-ray versions of the film. So what happened to that fabled “Rogue Cut” of ‘DOFP’? We finally have an update.
