Three years will have passed for Sherlock when Season 4 picks up in January (to say nothing of The Abominable Bride in 2016), and fans have been well-warned that the Benedict Cumberbatch-Martin Freeman series could return intermittently in the years to come. Cumberbatch himself seemed to suggest that Season 4 might be the last for some time, if ever, but creator Steven Moffat isn’t quite so sure.
Earlier this week, we learned that Disney had officially cast Interstellar actress Mackenzie Foy as Clara in their upcoming live-action adaptation of The Nutcracker. You can now add another name to that cast: according to The Hollywood Reporter, Morgan Freeman is in talks to join the movie as the mysterious and whimsical Drosselmeyer. Fingers crossed that this means we will get a Morgan Freeman dance number in the new movie.
What’s more unlikely than a gritty, edgy remake of Ben-Hur (of all things)? It might be the moment in the new trailer when Toby Kebbell, in the role of the titular hero’s nemesis, shouts, “Are we having fun yet, brother?!” It’s a line that belongs in an episode of Party Down (RIP), and one that seems hilariously out of place in a movie that features chariots.
