Fantastic Fest 2017 is looking, how do you say…lit. The Alamo Drafthouse has unleashed the final wave of titles for this year’s lineup, which includes Alexander Payne’s latest, Wonder Woman’s wild origin story, the sequel to World of Tomorrow, and much, much more. As always, the Alamo’s annual genre film festival remains the only place where you can attend a performance by Gilbert Gottfried, watch a 4K restoration of a blood-soaked Takashi Miike cult classic, and see forever bonkers favorite Nicolas Cage as a murderous father.

Takashi Miike is the most prolific filmmaker working today — his near-constant output is rivaled only by actors like Nicolas Cage and Dwayne Johnson, who might actually be robots. Miike has reached a truly impressive landmark in his career, as he prepares to unleash his 100th film, Blade of the Immortal. And as you might expect from the iconic Japanese director behind Audition and Ichi the Killer, the first trailer for his latest effort is completely wild, insanely violent, and totally NSFW.

It’s (almost) the most wonderful time of the year…Fantastic Fest 2017 is right around in the corner, and if the first wave of film programming is any indication, this year’s lineup is going to be pretty stellar. '13 Assassins,' for those of you who haven't seen it, is one of the coolest samurai epics ever put to film. Director Takashi Miike - who has directed over seventy productions since 1991 - returns for another samurai film that looks to be just as amazing, and the official trailer is now online.

Those more familiar with Takashi Miike's oeuvre will be thrilled to know the director is returning to horror with an adaptation of 'Aku No Kyoten,' AKA 'Lesson of the Evil.'
