Lady Gaga has been known as Lady Gaga for so long that pretty much all of us have forgotten that that’s not actually her given name.

Hot off his success with three standup specials on Netflix, Dave Chappelle is coming back to film, and is set to star, alongside Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, in the remake of A Star is Born.

Stefani Germanotta, better known to the world as Lady Gaga, decided to try out the title of triple threat when she entered Hollywood back in 2013. With minor roles in Machete Kills and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, it was hard to tell just how serious we were supposed to take Gaga’s acting career. Then she went and won a Golden Globe last year for her vampiric role in American Horror Story: Hotel. With next year’s A Star is Born remake, she’ll have the perfect opportunity to show off her acting skills on the big screen while doing what she does best: sing.

The great American music festival is the new hot guerrilla filming site. First, Terrence Malick hit up Austin City Limits with Ryan Gosling, Rooney Mara, and Michael Fassbender for his dreamy music-centric romance Song to Song. Now, Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga have put the attendees of Coachella on notice: their dream of momentarily sharing the silver screen with the world-straddling pop star/career weirdo is finally coming true.

But those up-to-date on the development of this production will express the most surprise and bafflement over the breaking news that none other than Andrew Dice Clay — the Diceman, the Diceman, twice-as-nice-man — has entered the mix.

Operating under the premise that motion pictures will still be made, distributed, and exhibited in some form by the time President Donald Trump — a three-word phrase we all now must get used to — has served half of his term, the Lady Gaga-fronted directorial debut from Bradley Cooper will see an awards-friendly early fall run.

It was recently reported that Bradley Cooper has been looking to make his directorial debut, and although it was rumored that his first project would be Honeymoon With Harry, Cooper’s first film might be something different — and a little more exciting. Cooper is eyeing the long-gestating remake of A Star Is Born featuring none other than Queen Beyoncé herself.

When it was announced that Clint Eastwood might be directing Beyonce Knowles in the third remake of 'A Star is Born,' it seemed likely that the film was destined to win all the Oscars. Then word came that Leonardo DiCaprio might be the male lead. Money in the bank. Now Beyonce has left the project, there's currently no male lead attached and the project looks dead in the water.
