Amazing Spider-Man 2

You know Spider-Man is one of the world’s coolest comic-book superheroes. But did you know that one of his coolest moves in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is inspired by one of the world’s first movie stars? It’s true; the moment early in the film when Spidey grabs onto a police wagon as it speeds by in the middle of a chase is an homage to a similar moment in a classic silent comedy by Buster Keaton. That’s just one of the bloody good facts featured in the latest episode of You Think You Know Movies!

Because of all the excitement around the new Spider-Man in the Captain America: Civil War trailer, I decided to take a look back at the two Amazing Spider-Man movies from 2012 and 2014 directed by Marc Webb and starring Andrew Garfield. I was not a fan of the ASM reboot at the time, but I love Spidey and was admittedly a huge supporter of Sam Raimi’s interpretation of the franchise. It seemed possible that I hadn’t given the Amazing movies a fair shake.

The comic book movie craze may have exploded in recent years, but there have been movies and TV shows based on our favorite comics for decades. For all the action we see on screen, however, we hardly ever get to see behind the curtain at how it all comes together. Fortunately, we've managed to uncover dozens of behind the scenes images from your favorite comic-inspired movies. From The Dark Knight to Dredd, and Conan to Kick-Ass, we now have a little bit of an idea of what life was like on set during the creation of these beloved adaptations.

Sony has plans for two more 'Amazing Spider-Man' movies, as well as spin-offs for villains, including Spidey's greatest foes: the Sinister Six. And while they are the most villainous of the villains, the producers say we can expect a slightly different take on their story when it comes time for their tale to be told in the 'Sinister Six' film, which is being helmed by director Drew Goddard.  Read
