Adam Sandler’s reign over Netflix is far from over. After the streaming service renewed his movie deal, Netflix bought Noah Baumbach’s upcoming The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected), which is set to premiere at this month’s Cannes International Film Festival. Today, we got our first official look at the film, with four new images.

Netflix, for all their diverting original series and Bong Joon-ho subsidization, has also been responsible for the introduction of a great evil into the world. I am referring, of course, to their seemingly infinite-picture development deal with chronic Phoner-of-It-In Adam Sandler. Netflix signed Sandler to a four-movie deal back in 2014, which has been going decidedly less-than-great so far — his Western spoof The Ridiculous Six was a big pile of donkey turds, and the trailer for his upcoming Sandy Wexler has not inspired much more confidence. When the news hit a few weeks ago that Netflix would re-up their deal with Sandler for four more movies, our coverage of the notice contained the words “oh no.”

True Detective didn’t exactly pan out for Colin Farrell, but Amazon might welcome him back to TV. The Lobster star is re-teaming with director Yorgos Lanthimos for a new Amazon limited series about the Iran-Contra affair, with Farrell portraying Oliver North.

As is tradition, the night before the Oscar ceremony takes place, the 37th Annual Golden Raspberry Awards will descend on Los Angeles to commemorate the worst that Hollywood had to offer in 2016. A mean-spirited diss-fest in the estimation of some, a good-natured ribbing to others, the so-called Razzies are twice as unpredictable and ten times as frank as the usual awards program. The expected categories of Worst Picture, Worst Director and Worst Actor/Actress share space with the distinctions of Worst Screen Combo and Worst Prequel, Remake, Ripoff, or Sequel at the ignominious ceremony. Some celebrities take the jokes in stride (Sandra Bullock famously showed up to receive her Worst Actress Razzie for All About Steve the day before she dropped by the Oscars to pick up her Best Actress prize for The Blind Side), but the program goes widely ignored by the industry overall.

The film, which will reunite Baumbach with his While We’re Young star Ben Stiller as well as Dustin Hoffman, Emma Thompson, and Grace Van Patten, centers on an “estranged New York family coming together in preparation of artist and patriarch Harold’s career retrospective.”

Is there a documented record for the most celebrity cameos in a single film? If there was, Zoolander 2 just broke it. The film opens with the murder of Justin Bieber and closes with ... well, without spoiling it, let’s say it closes with a whole slew of more cameos, and there’s at least 20 more in between. These are some of the biggest names from the world of fashion, music, TV, film, journalism, and pop culture. If Zoolander 2 was a party, the guest list alone would make it the greatest ever thrown. But Zoolander 2 is not a party. It is a movie. A bad movie. Never have so many cool people appeared in something so patently lame — or, as idiot male model Derek Zoolander mispronounces it, “luh-may.”

One of the funniest parts of the Zoolander 2 trailers features Owen Wilson’s Hansel hurling increasingly large and dangerous objects at Ben Stiller’s Derek Zoolander in an effort to trigger his magical model powers. You can see a slightly extended version of that scene in one of two new clips Paramount has released to promote the long-delayed comedy sequel, while the other…well…it’s pretty special.

It’s only apropos that Zoolander 2, a film about beautiful people’s supernatural abilities to help market luxury goods, would have a razor-sharp ad campaign to match. February 12 of next year will finally reunite audiences with bubbleheaded supermodel Derek Zoolander in a sequel to Ben Stiller’s 2001 fashion-world farce. Naturally, a film about the world of stylish haute couture advertisements would need only the most tasteful promotional campaign to spread its own word, and in recent months, team Zoolander has been steadily accomplishing just that...

There were three credited writers on the original Zoolander: Drake Sather, John Hamburg, and director and star Ben Stiller. But like so many Hollywood movies, the credited writers aren’t necessarily all the men and women who wrote stuff for the movie. In fact, Anchorman and Step Brothers creator Adam McKay actually worked on Zoolander, contributing some of the most important stuff to the screenplay — along with a joke that was basically too amazing to exist.
