A sad day for fans of Powers Boothe, as the revered character actor has apparently passed away. The sinister-voiced star was well-remembered for his role as one of Deadwood’s big bads, as well as appearances in everything from Sin City to Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Just over a week ago, Amazon fervently denied reports that its three-year HBO deal would expire in May, removing access to all-time HBO greats like The Wire or Six Feet Under. The confusion was attributed to technical error, but reports now confirm the deal will actually expire in 2018.

The prospect of a Deadwood revival movie is heating up now that creator David Milch has turned in a complete script, but assembling the cast is another matter. Thankfully, the movie’s most vocal proponent came prepared, as Ian McShane would balance Deadwood with Starz’s American Gods.

At the very least, McShane’s latest claims prove to be true, as another series alum reveals they’ve read the completed movie script, calling it “f–ing thrilling and f–ing heartbreaking.”

Now that any HBO viewer can buy their own streaming package outside a cable subscription, one had to wonder what would become of Amazon Prime’s old deal to host some of the network’s best shows. Sadly, you may have only weeks to catch some of HBO’s best series like The Wire or Six Feet Under, which are leaving Amazon behind.

Ian McShane is an adorably irregular source of information; one minute spoiling Game of Thrones, and the next promising Deadwood updates that never come to pass. The latest rings closer to the latter, as the erstwhile Al Swearengen says the next move is officially HBO’s, and a decision might be incoming.

Just when you thought Nic Pizzolatto might have formally lain True Detective to rest, in comes Deadwood riding to the rescue. Reports indicate that Season 3 of HBO’s once-revered anthology series is in development at last, shepherded by none other than Deadwood boss David Milch.
