San Diego Comic-Con is just a few (very short) days away, but if you can’t wait until this weekend for all the goods from the Warner Bros. panel, a new report has shed some light on one of the studio’s most anticipated upcoming releases: Birds of Prey. The latest details to emerge from Margot Robbie’s female-centric DC Comics spinoff reveal a few of the other characters who will be fighting alongside Harley Quinn — and offers a hint as to who exactly they’ll be up against.

Details of DC’s digital streaming service are finally emerging from the swamp. Not only has the new network confirmed a “DC Universe” name with first looks at Titans, Harley Quinn and more, but a Swamp Thing series with Aquaman director James Wan has entered the pool.

In Suicide Squad, Harley Quinn was one of the few shining spots in David Ayer’s otherwise messy attempt to introduce the grimy super-villain collective. Margot Robbie’s natural charisma elevated the character beyond Joker’s occasional girlfriend and sidekick (and emotional punching bag), and she really zeroed in on the aspects of her personality that have made Harley Quinn such a fan-favorite. It’s no surprise that Warner Bros. is already plotting a pair of spinoffs for the character, but according to Robbie, there’s a third Harley project in the works, too.

The breakout character of DC’s Suicide Squad is returning to her animated roots. A new Harley Quinn animated series is coming to DC’s upcoming digital streaming service, with the potential for Margot Robbie to reprise her role.

One of the great things about Batman’s rogues’ gallery is how prominent the women of Gotham City’s underworld are among the other villains taking up the Dark Knight’s time. This was especially true of the animated adventures, with both Batman: The Animated Series and The New Batman Adventures focusing on the femme fatales with regularity. Heck, BTAS even gave us one of the most popular characters in DC Comics’ history, with the emergence of Harley Quinn. It’s with that in mind that DC Collectibles paid tribute Gotham’s most wanted women in a special pack commemorating the all-female ensemble episode of New Batman Adventures, “Girl's Night Out.”

The spotlight in the DC Extended Universe is squarely on women right now. Wonder Woman is still tying moviegoers in knots; just one more good weekend will make it the second biggest DCEU movie in the U.S., and it could pass Batman v Superman for the top spot not long after. Princess Diana will get back in the spotlight in Justice League this fall, and last summer was all about Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn stealing scenes from Will Smith and the rest of the Suicide Squad. Basically DC sisters are doing it for themselves.

The people cannot get enough Batman. He’s everywhere: he fought Superman, now he’s in the Justice League, soon he’ll return to another solo movie, and he ended up back in the news due to Adam West’s passing — we’re living in the Batman-est of all possible worlds. And those Batmaniacs clamoring for more time with the Caped Crusader before he returns in Justice League on November 17 are in luck, because Bruce Wayne and a couple familiar friends will storm nationwide theaters for a special one-night engagement this summer.

Gotham’s approach to Batman continuity has been head-scratching, to say the least, but perhaps none more-so than suggestions Harley Quinn might make an early appearance, absent any official Joker. Well, according to star David Mazouz, there’s no two ways about the fan-favorite making some debut in the two-part Season 3 finale.
