NBC's Heroes Reborn will finally go through with its revival this coming fall, but already the cast and crew are on hand at Comic-Con 2015 to preview an extended trailer and dish on the new Tim Kring superhero saga. We're on hand for the panel, so what can we learn from Heroes Reborn?
Heroes Reborn finally lifted the curtain a bit last week, confirming itself as an actual thing NBC is doing by a first trailer. Familiar faces were in short supply however, and now the new (and old!) Heroes have their own character posters to confirm that they too, were contractually hired to act in an actual Heroes revival. Let’s watch in horror, shall we?
After a vague announcement way back in February 2014, NBC’s Heroes has finally made good on its threat to return as the revived Heroes Reborn. No mere teaser, our first full footage sees plenty of heroes on the run, old and familiar faces alike, while the network’s full synopsis teases a major tragedy, and not just that Heroes Reborn is actually happening.
The Network of Bad Choices may have today canceled Hannibal, but don’t you worry your pretty brains about Heroes Reborn! Elaborate prank or otherwise, the revived NBC series at least has a new teaser (absent any actual Heroes), as well as a firm September premiere date set by today’s announcements. So, where are all the Heroes, you ask?
It just wouldn’t be Comic-Con without further superheroes to toss into the mix, and NBC’s Heroes Reborn is happy to oblige, by way of … you know, still existing. The superhero drama will return to San Diego for Comic-Con 2015 after a number of years away, along with NBC’s Grimm.
Incredulous though we remain that NBC’s Heroes Reborn could happen at all, at least some of the show’s past stars have firmly chosen to move on from such a dark time in history. We’ve heard of a bevy of returning Heroes castmates, but who from the original group has officially opted not to be Reborn?
We still don’t even have a proper trailer for NBC’s inexplicable Heroes Reborn revival, but once again the super-series has dug deep for an original series cameo. Cristine Rose will reprise her role as Angela Petrelli, though Milo Ventimiglia isn’t likely to join her, and a new leak offers at least some footage of our new Heroes.
We’re still on the fence as to whether NBC would be cruel enough to subject humanity to a genuine Heroes Reborn revival, though the network today tosses another original series star into the mix. Sendhil Ramamurthy has officially signed to reprise the role of Mohinder Suresh, sure to shepherd the new … the new … say, did it just get sleepy in here?
Whether or not you subscribe to the theory that NBC’s Heroes Reborn revival is anything more than an elaborate prank on all television (and how could it not be?), its purported casting has been solid. Fresh off Orphan Black Season 3, Dylan Bruce is the latest to join NBC’s questionable Heroes reboot, in you guessed it, a mysterious role.
