Netflix is bringing another of its series to an unexpectedly early end. Judd Apatow romantic dramedy Love will officially return for its third season in March, but Netflix confirms the Gillian Jacobs-Paul Rust series won’t be back after that.

Sony raised quite a few eyebrows with their announcement last week that they would begin a Clean Version Initiative with a bunch of their films in order to sanitize them for younger audiences. The kind of thing that made the list were comedies like Talladega Nights, Step Brothers, and Grown Ups, but Sony also listed Hancock, Captain Phillips, and Inferno for all those under-13 Dan Brown fans out there. But after a number of directors and stars took to social media to voice their concerns, Sony has decided not to bowdlerize any movie against its director’s wishes.

Over the weekend, we learned that Crashing star and comedian Artie Lange questioned his job prospects after a recent drug arrest. Now, Lange claims that HBO officially fired him from the Pete Holmes comedy, though both network reps and producer Judd Apatow curiously deny it.

Any fan of Artie Lange knows the comedian’s history of substance abuse and legal troubles, one which added a new chapter this week with an arrest for possession. Lange also has a prominent role on HBO’s Crashing, which the star acknowledges may now come to an end, if not necessarily by Judd Apatow’s doing.

Far be it for us to take every title literally, but it doesn’t look like Pete Holmes will be escaping homelessness anytime soon. The HBO comedian’s standup Crashing comedy will be back for Season 2, and will need a new partner after Girls.

There wasn’t any way to find Love Season 2 explicitly on Valentine’s Day, but Netflix has the next best thing. See Gus and Mickey give it a second go in the first official trailer for the Apatow comedy’s second season, along with a fresh poster.

It took some time for Judd Apatow’s Gillian Jacobs-Paul Rust relationship comedy Love to land its initial two-season order, but don’t expect Mickey and Gus not to make a third go of it. Netflix confirms that Love will return for Season 3 as well, while Season 2 premieres next month.
