In Hollywood, often people fail upwards, as there no other reason why Universal would hire Len Wiseman to helm their 'Mummy' Reboot (or re-reboot, if the 1930's and 40's versions count). But the man behind the 'Total Recall' remake is very close to being chosen to direct the film.

Right now, everyone’s in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ mode. You can forgive Hollywood for forgetting, albeit temporarily, that there are other films coming out this summer. ‘The Watch’ looks funny, and ‘The Bourne Legacy’ could kick serious ass. We're also excited for ‘Total Recall,’ which wowed the crowds at San Diego Comic-Con and now continues to tease with a new clip.

Recently, we showed you a comparison between the first trailer for the remake of 'Total Recall' and the original film. And if that trailer had some similarities, it could be argued that perhaps it was edited to remind viewers of the original. The latest trailer lifts scenes wholesale.

Though it's not due out until August 3, 'Total Recall' has already got a TV spot. Which suggests that the new model of media saturation that was so effective for 'The Avengers' is taking hold, and we're going to be inundated with tons of 'Total Recall' for the next two months.

Borrowing a page from the website Trailers From Hell, Len Wiseman has done a commentary track for a trailer. But in this case it's not an obscure or classic film, it's for his upcoming remake of 'Total Recall,' which hits theaters August 3.
