This Friday will see NBC airing the last of its initial 13-episode ‘Constantine’ order, certainly a worrying notion for those concerned by the network’s recent exclusion of the DC drama among multiple renewals. There may yet be hope for ‘Constantine’ however, as NBC is reportedly considering moving a second season to Syfy, and allowing a bit more creative freedom.

NBC’s ‘Constantine’ has managed impressive turnaround in bringing fan eyes to the DC drama, but the network itself may not be so convinced of the show’s potential for season 2. Following the decision to keep its first season at 13 episodes, NBC executives have offered uncertain, if vaguely promising comments on the fate of ‘Constantine.’

NBC's 'Constantine' hasn't exactly lit the world on fire since its October debut, at least in the manner its DC compatriots have, but the network isn't quite giving up on its demon detective drama just yet. NBC has decided to halt production on the series after 13 episodes, but may yet opt for a second season, should fans continue to reflect interest in the series.

The main character of this show, the one who goes by John Constantine, is an impostor. I know John Constantine, sir, and you are no John Constantine.

NBC's take on the DC Comics line 'Hellblazer' isn't pulling any punches when it comes to the creepy stuff -- this is a television series about demons, after all -- and they're out in force in this new trailer for the 'Constantine,' straight out of this week's steadily winding down Comic-Con. The new series follows demon hunter/con guy (totally normal vocation) John Constantine (Matt Ryan) as he, well, cons people and fights demons. It's not very lucrative, but it's definitely busy.

It's been a good day for TV comic adaptations. Following The CW's official orders of 'The Flash' and 'iZombie,' Warner Bros. is adding another to the plate. NBC's 'Constantine' has officially been given the series green light, adapting the supernatural detective to live action for a second incarnation.

NBC's forthcoming 'Constantine' adaptation has piqued fan interest by adapting a more faithful version of DC's 'Hellblazer' than Keanu Reeves' 2005 cinematic incarnation, and the first images of 'Criminal Minds' vet Matt Ryan in character as the DC demon fighter should allay a number of concerns. Normally we'd expect Friday nights reserved for the likes of such run-off news as 'Space Jam 2,' but it seems NBC doesn't mind keeping its new 'Constantine' in the dark, so to speak.
