Say what you will about Kevin Smith tackling a TV adaptation of The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension; there’s no denying his passion for the material. So much so, in fact, that Smith has now distanced himself from the project over MGM’s lawsuit with the original writer and director.

Last we heard, Kevin Smith’s TV take on The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension was likely bound for Amazon, so what’s the holdup? Apparently the original writer and director, as MGM is now suing the pair for the rights to proceed with Smith’s TV series.

Even Kevin Smith had to admit his surprise at overwhelmingly positive reception for his episode of The Flash, and the gig may yet continue to bear fruit. The Yoga Hosers director says MGM has approached him for an Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension TV series, one of his personal favorites.

Director Kimberly Peirce is so thrilled to be remaking 'Carrie,' and so excited that she's landed Chloe Grace Moretz for the title role, that she's gone ahead and made her own poster for the movie before shooting a foot of film.

'Carrie,' based on the novel by Stephen King, was adapted by Brian DePalma in 1976 and remade for TV in 2002, starring Angela Bettis. It was also a Broadway musical. Twice. And it's going to be a horror movie again. Now it looks like MGM has found their lead for that 'Carrie' remake.
