Michael Madsen, the actor known for playing tough guys and his work in countless Quentin Tarantino films, has died.

With a story set in and around Los Angeles during the Manson Family era and a cast that already includes Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt, Quentin Tarantino’s ninth film is shaping up to be the movie event of next summer — and the latest additions to the ensemble double-down on that point.

It took years to finally get an adaptation of Brian Michael Bendis’ Powers comic off the ground, but only two to bring it crashing back to Earth. After two seasons, Bendis confirms that the expensive and ambitious PlayStation series will come to an end.

Is it Free Comic Book TV day? Well, if the first episode of AMC’s Preacher weren’t enough to tide you over, Sony PlayStation’s Powers seems to have followed suit for Season 2. The full 2016 premiere is available online, free of charge.

PlayStation’s Powers adaptation may not have wowed as much as other superhero series these days, but Season 2 has definitely upped the ante, and not just by invoking its Jessica Jones connection. Powers goes epic in its first 2016 trailer, including a new Retro Girl, stars the likes of Tricia Helfer and Michael Madsen, and an all-out uprising.

Moderately-received though it may have been, Sony PlayStation original Powers nonetheless continues to pull some impressive casting. Following last year’s coup of Sharlto Copley in the leading role, Tarantino favorite Michael Madsen has joined Powers Season 2 in the key role of aptly-titled superhero “SuperShock.”
