It’s one of the most famous and important horror movies of all time: Night of the Living Dead. But did you know that wasn’t always the title? The film was originally going to be called Night of the Flesh Eaters, until it was discovered that a movie called The Flesh Eaters already existed. Director George A. Romero preferred the title Night of Anubis, in reference to the Egyptian god of embalming, but with so few people knowing who Anubis was (much less praying to him), the title was eventually changed to the one that became synonymous with movie zombies.
