As we prepare for next week’s release of the final film in the Paranormal Activity franchise, the fine folks at Paramount have given us an early treat. A new viral video features the house from the original film, set up as a fake open house to lure in — and terrify — potential buyers. Sure, they could be actors, but if so, it hardly seems like it judging by their behavior.

We had a new Paranormal Activity film each year for four years, but following reports of some creative issues, the franchise took a little break. The series will return this year with its fifth installment, Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, which will officially be its last. Paramount and Blumhouse have revealed the first images from the upcoming sequel, and it looks like this one is going right off the rails.

The decidedly low-fi horror series Paranormal Activity franchise is getting a major technological upgrade next year. Via press release, Paramount announced they’re turning their long-running found-footage series into a virtual reality game; Paranormal Activity VR is coming in 2016 “for all major head-mounted displays including HTC Vive, Sony’s Project Morpheus, Oculus Rift; PC; mobile; and consoles, including Xbox One and PlayStation 4.”

If you're still interested in the idea of a 'Paranormal Activity 5,' you may not be after you hear its new title. Paramount Pictures not only announced the fifth installment's release date for 2015, but also that we'll apparently be entering 'The Ghost Dimension.'

We're long past the point where the 'Paranormal Activity' posters provide us with any real scares (sorry, but it's all just been the same stuff over and over), but we'll give some credit to this 'Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones' poster for a legitimately creepy image (at least in comparison to the unimaginative 'Paranormal Activity' posters that came before it).

Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for its Latino spinoff film to the 'Paranormal Activity' horror franchise, titled 'Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones.' If you were expecting anything less than the jumps and "things flying at the camera" antics from the others, turn back now.

'Boy Scouts vs. Zombies' is an actual movie on which Paramount Pictures hopes to start production in the spring of next year. If that didn't sound strange enough, now Christopher Landon of the 'Paranormal Activity' franchise has been brought on to direct.

The 'Paranormal Activity' films have owned October for the last four years running, but it seems that Paramount might be ready to switch things up and relinquish the October box office to someone else this year. Word is, the studio is thinking of pushing 'Paranormal Activity 5' back to 2014.
