French filmmaker Leos Carax’s bizarro collection of connected vignettes follows a odd man named Mr. Oscar as he goes about his day enacting a series of elaborate role playing scenarios, from a facially-scarred hitman to a hair-eating troll to a motion-capture technician creating an alien phantom. I’m not selling it all that well, but trust me when I say there’s a reason it usually ends up in conversations about the finest films of our young millennium. And continue trusting me when I tell you that news of another feature project from the less-than-prolific Carax is ample reason to prick up your ears and pay attention.

Apart from watching Bates Motel’s Norman finally ascend the Psycho mantle, fans are surely keen for the final season to bring Rihanna’s take on classic Psycho character Marion Crane. You needn’t drill any holes for a closer look in the latest Season 5 trailers, which also offers a closer look at Norman’s newfound relationship with his icy mother.

The moment Bates Motel announced that Rihanna would join the fifth and final season as the most famous Psycho victim of all, we knew we had to see it to believe it. Good news! New photos and footage from the final season reveal the “Umbrella” singer in all her glory, and apparently in need of one as well.

Any list of the best movie remakes of all-time has to include Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s Eleven, a classy, canny update of the Rat Pack heist flick that originally starred Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and Angie Dickinson. Soderbergh’s Ocean’s was an even more star-studded affair featuring George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Julia Roberts. The critically acclaimed and commercially successful comedy ultimately spawned two sequels; together, the three Soderbergh Ocean’s made more than $1.1 billion worldwide, a number so large it would even impress Sinatra and Clooney’s Danny Ocean.

It’s taken four full years, but A&E’s Bates Motel is finally ready to close up shop with a fifth and final season. The horror prequel drama will descend into its full Psycho origin, Marion Crane and all, now that A&E confirms a February premiere.

If you loved The Fifth Element (and honestly, who doesn’t?) then you’ll be excited for the latest sci-fi visual creation to pop out of the mind of Luc Besson. Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets looks even more wacky than that 1997 sci-fi adventure based on the first trailer.

If you know Luc Besson, you know he never shies away from being as nutso with his movies as possible. 1997’s The Fifth Element proved he wasn’t at all averse to making adventurous sci-fi as strange and wonderful as possible, which gives us plenty of reasons to be excited for his upcoming Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. Another one of those reasons is Rihanna, who is going to have a small role in the movie, and whose look has been revealed in preparation for the first Valerian teaser to drop tomorrow.

In a turn of events that gives evidence that maybe the world isn’t so terrible after all, Rooney Mara and Adam Driver are going to be starring in a movie together. They’ve both been on the up and up for a while, Mara giving incredible performances in dramas like The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and last year’s Carol, and Driver ping-ponging back and forth between franchise and indie, as he’ll star in the next two Star Wars episodes and was also lauded for his a critically acclaimed performance in this year’s Paterson. The two have signed on to play lovers in Annette.

We’ve heard rumblings for a while about Gary Ross’ all-female ‘Oceans 11' reboot. In addition to Sandra Bullock leading the film, Cate Blanchett, Mindy Kaling and Helena Bonham Carter have all been rumored. Now three more spots have reportedly been filled in what is some of the weirdest casting news in a while.

It seemed something of a given that A&E’s Bates Motel would close up shop in Season 5, as well incorporate the most famous Psycho murder, but the truth is far stranger. Yes, Bates Motel will officially come to an end with 2017, but with Rihanna as Marion Crane! No joke!
