Time will tell if PlayStation’s Powers can succeed in Season 2 by leaning closer to its comic book roots, but the first clip is off to a flying start. Meet the new Retro Girl in town (the first one’s barely cold) in a new clip, as well as a look at the new comics-inspired opening credits.

The other day saw PlayStation’s Powers adaptation coming out of hibernation to deliver its first Season 2 photos, now crashing through your wall with more to offer. Not only do we have a May premiere for the first episodes, but a brand-new trailer chock full of superhero action.

However much polish its first season might have used, Sony PlayStation’s Powers isn’t having trouble attracting name actors and sci-fi icons. Following Michael Madsen’s SuperShock-ing role last week, Battlestar Galactica icon Tricia Helfer has joined the series for Season 2, but will she be suiting up?

Moderately-received though it may have been, Sony PlayStation original Powers nonetheless continues to pull some impressive casting. Following last year’s coup of Sharlto Copley in the leading role, Tarantino favorite Michael Madsen has joined Powers Season 2 in the key role of aptly-titled superhero “SuperShock.”

Just the facts: Sony has bought a pitch for an animated movie based on Emoji, the popular, expressive faces that have become omnipresent in 21st century communication. The movie was at the center of a bidding war, with several studios jockeying to nab the rights to what sounds like, on paper, a brand-friendly project in the vein of The LEGO Movie.

Sony PlayStation’s first original series, Powers managed to handcuff a second season to debut in 2016, for which the first season finale left a staggering mystery. Now at Comic-Con 2015, the Powers panel reveals the addition of fan-favorite writer Ben Edlund, some candid reflection on Season 1, and a major new superhero to boot.

If it’s major news, it’s bound to become a movie of some sort, and last year’s massive Sony hacking scandal is definitely major news. Or was, anyway. The hack reportedly motivated by Sony’s release of the Seth Rogen and James Franco comedy The Interview will now be the subject of a new documentary from the filmmakers behind the Oscar-nominated documentary The Square.

After years spent in development hell just getting to air in the first place, PlayStation’s Powers TV series adaptation is officially here to stay. The gaming network has confirmed that Powers will return for Season 2 in 2016, keeping Detectives Walker and Pilgrim in the superhero game another year.

After years of on-again off-again development, Brian Michael Bendis’ iconic Powers has at last come to life as PlayStation’s first original TV series. The first episode has made its way online, along with a brand-new trailer for the full season to come!

Captain America: The Winter Soldier directing duo Joe and Anthony Russo have established themselves quite nicely over at Marvel Studios—not only are they directing Captain America: Civil War, but it’s been all-but-confirmed that the pair will helm both parts of Avengers: Infinity War. In a curious bit of news regarding the Russos today, the brothers have just signed a deal with Sony following an agreement between the studio and Marvel over the rights to Spider-Man. Curious indeed.
