The end of one month means the start of another, which also means that new things are coming to a streaming platform near you. Netflix’s July instant releases are stacked, and include a few classic cartoon dinosaur movies, the premieres of a new Netflix original shows, and one Star Wars Story.

Since Dennis Miller hosted the very first MTV Movie Awards back in 1992, the music channel’s annual award ceremony has been something of a fun dalliance into a world where the artistic merit of a movie is less important than its popular clout. This year marks a couple of big changes for the format: not only did the award show change its official name  —  it is now known as the MTV Movie & TV Awards  —  it also has become arguably the most inclusive award show to date, honoring titles like Moonlight, Get Out, and Jane the Virgin alongside its stalwart categories like Best Kiss and Best Villain.

Veteran Industrial Light & Magic visual effects supervisor John Knoll did pretty well suggesting his fun little heist movie idea to Lucasfilm. Rogue One was the buzziest blockbuster of last year and while it has its flaws, it’s still a whole lot of fun watching a Star Wars movie that has nothing to do with anyone named Skywalker. It expanded the Star Wars universe and paved the way for more spinoffs, and since we all know Star Wars isn’t ending with the final episode of the new trilogy, Knoll has another idea marinating already. You know, in case anyone’s interested.

Even as Star Wars Rebels won’t directly recreate the events of Rogue One from General Syndulla’s perspective, the final season will veer close enough that the two share similar imagery. In fact, the fourth and final Rebels year will even adjust some of its overall designs and color scheme to get closer in line with the Rebel Alliance on Yavin.

Star Wars Rebels fans were elated to find their beloved characters and ships ported to live-action for Rogue One; not only for the animated series’ validation, but also a chance to revisit the film from another perspective. Sadly, even as Rebels will close out the series with Season 4, bosses confirm we won’t be going Rogue again.

We’re still reeling from the announcement that Star Wars Rebels Season 4 will end the series, but equally excited to catch up with the films. Case in point, creator Dave Filoni promises Hera will become the General Syndulla overheard in Rogue One, as well answering a few mysteries of her place in the films and beyond.

When is a video game more than just a video game? When the story it tells is woven into the legends and events of one of the biggest blockbuster movie franchises of all time. This weekend, Electronic Arts debuted the first footage from its upcoming Star Wars Battlefront 2, the sequel to the bestselling 2015 Star Wars video game, with the promise that this game would tell canonical stories not previously seen in the Star Wars universe. It’s all part of an ambitious effort by Lucasfilm to weave these Star Wars stories across a variety of media, including the films, television shows, video games, and books.

Just weeks removed from the third season finale, and already Star Wars Rebels is coming around again. Get a first look at the fourth (and final?) season in a new trailer fresh out of Star Wars Celebration, chock full of familiar faces, Rogue One references and beyond!

Star Wars Celebration has only just begun, and won’t bring us details on The Last Jedi or Star Wars Rebels until the weekend, but fans of the animated branch are in for an early treat. The dream of a live-action Star Wars TV series gets a little bit further with each successful film, but some of the prior small-screen efforts bore surprising fruit. As it turns out, the concept for Rogue One initially began with the post-Revenge of the Sith TV series, as revealed by ILM visual effects supervisor John Knoll.
