Netflix’s animation partnership with DreamWorks has yielded significant returns thus far; not just for Guillermo del Toro’s Trollhunters, but also Voltron: Legendary Defender. That formation is getting even stronger, as reports indicate Season 3 is a go for fall 2017, with potentially many more episodes to come.

Netflix borrowed a few pages from The Legend of Korra to make Voltron: Legendary Defender an impressive success for the streaming network, and Season 2 looks to be building on that well. A master of blackly humorous genre work (the guy never met a B-movie he couldn’t make into high art), Bong last appeared on American shores in 2014 with Snowpiercer, his first foray into English-language filmmaking. To employ a critical parlance, it ruled, and with the first photos from Okja now trickling out in advance of its debut next year, we have every reason to believe Bong’s latest will rule just as hard.

The Walking Dead tried to have its cake and eat it by Sunday’s Season 7 premiere cashing out not one, but two series regulars; one in line with the comic, one intended to throw us off.
