‘The Birth of a Nation’ Sells for a Sundance Record $17.5 Million
To the list of Sundance 2016 deals so far we can now add another; and not just any deal, but the biggest sale in the long history of Robert Redford’s film festival. That would be Nate Parker’s The Birth of a Nation, which Variety reports Fox Searchlight is “closing” a deal for at an incredible price: $17.5 million.
