As if essentially doubling the Season 4 order weren’t enough to sell the scope of Vikings Season 4, the new trailer should do nicely. History has released a new two-minute sneak peek of the expansive 2016 season, chock full of betrayal, shattering swords and splintered shields.

History’s Vikings had plundered bounty enough when Season 4 was announced to reach 16 episodes, up from the prior 10, and now Ragnar Lothbrok has gone mad with power. Not only has Season 4 been upped to a full 20 episodes, but so too do we have our February premiere.

It’s been a long road for Duncan Jones’ Warcraft movie — Jones signed on for the ambitious project almost three years ago, and today brings the first actual footage from the epic blockbuster in anticipation of Friday’s full trailer. Although brief, the teaser is a bit more revealing than most of its annoying “teaser for a teaser trailer” brethren, and given how long we’ve waited to see something from Warcraft, it’s better than nothing at all.

History’s Vikings famously ditches the classic helmet imagery, but did you know the concept of filthy, horned raiders was historically inaccurate anyway? Or that the Travis Fimmel series pays homage to classic Norse myth in its titles? History’s Vikings might not make their next raid until early 2016, but Ragnar Lothbrok and his ever-bloodier brood always manage to bring fresh footage to Comic-Con. The first formal trailer for 2016's return shows that King Ragnar isn’t done with Paris just yet, while women seek to rule and brotherhoods are tested, and there’s even a bear!

Consistently excellent, though perhaps underwritten about, History’s Vikings show no signs of slowing down through 2015 or 2016. The historical fantasy (ish) drama has officially been renewed for another raid in Season 4, continuing the tale of warrior-philosopher-king Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel).

Ragnar Lothbork and the ‘Vikings’ brood covered quite a bit of ground (and sea) in its first two seasons, but History will pillage onward as early as 2015. The network has officially set a season 3 premiere date for ‘Vikings,’ giving King Ragnar a time and place to reassemble the horde.

Just yesterday we brought you the first official teaser posters from Duncan Jones' adaptation of 'Warcraft' as the director hit Blizzard's annual BlizzCon convention to host a panel for his upcoming film. Jones recently wrapped filming on the project, and while little has been known about the adaptation, the director finally revealed the lineup of characters and divulged some plot details about the Alliance and the Horde.

The 'Vikings' of History's namesake will be back to raid, pillage and plunder a second season beginning February 27, but before they do, they may need to settle some differences of their own.
