Voltron

Early last month, we learned that Netflix had begun development of a new Voltron series under its renewed agreement with DreamWorks, and before any major details have emerged, we already have our first look at the new Legendary Defender series, accompanied by an official logo and glimpse of the new Voltron.

Netflix’s plan to double its original content by 2016 proved undoubtedly ambitious, and it seems DreamWorks Animation may help it happen. The two have partnered up to add some major names to Netflix’s original programming slate, including a new Voltron series, as well as Guillermo del Toro’s Trollhunters project.

DreamWorks is desperate for new ideas -- so desperate that they're bidding on the rights to characters under the Classic Media umbrella, the entity that controls familiar faces like He-Man, Gumby, and Voltron.
