The world has literally lit up with Adam West tributes since the Batman star’s tragic passing over the weekend, and we’ll have at least one more chance to honor the staccato “Bright Knight.” Sources confirm West had completed recording vocals for an animated sequel to Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders.

Say what you will about The Big Bang Theory; dozens of sci-fi and Hollywood icons have dropped by the series to cater toward its geek-friendly audience. Star Trek icon William Shatner apparently felt it beneath him, however, wanting writers to “find something that’s better” than their original pitch.

It’s been some time since William Shatner took part in any Star Trek revival, and with the movie franchise folding in on its own mythology, it might make sense of CBS’ Star Trek: Discovery to return the most famous Enterprise captain. Shatner is open to an appearance on the new series, but only “If I were useful.”
