Admittedly, we haven't paid too much attention to the development of Alan Ball's first post-'True Blood' project, that of the upcoming Cinemax thriller 'Banshee.' Cinemax's star has been on the rise following development of their stable of original series, from sexy noir thriller 'Femme Fatales' to action-drama 'Strike Back,' and even the upcoming 'Transporter' adaptation. So what can we learn from the first teaser for 'Banshee'?

Surprisingly little! Though today Cinemax has revealed the first teaser for 'Banshee,' set to debut in January 2013, "revealed" is hardly the operant word. The teaser focuses largely on voice-over with a black background, but does reveal six pretty bad-ass looking shots. Driving! Weapons! Explosion! Boobs! What more could we want?

Created by departing 'True Blood' show-runner Alan Ball, 'Banshee' features Antony Starr as Lucas Hood, an ex-con and master thief who assumes the identity of the sheriff of Banshee, Pennsylvania, where he continues his criminal activities, even as he’s hunted by the shadowy gangsters he betrayed years earlier. The series also stars 'Charlie's Angels'' Ivana Milicevic, Ulrich Thomsen, Frankie Faison, Rus Blackwell, Ryann Shane and 'Star Trek''s Ben Cross.

The series was created by Jonathan Tropper and David Schickler, who serve as executive producers along with Alan Ball, Greg Yaitanes and Peter Macdissi. Take a look at the teaser below, and tell us if you think 'Banshee' is worth watching in the comments!
