Talk of a 'Community' movie may well prove enough to sustain the cult NBC comedy through a sixth, and presumably final season, but for the moment, the Greendale gang will tackle their most ambitious outing yet with a 'G.I. Joe' animated installment that reimagines Jeff, Britta, Abed, Annie, Shirley and more as the realest of American heroes. Watch "Buzzkill" Britta and "Fourth Wall" Abed even deliver a G.I. Joe'-style PSA in the first clip from April return "G.I. Jeff!"

Where previously we saw a few photos of the outing, the newest clip from 'Community''s next animated venture sees Britta attempting to dissuade a few youths from graffiti, but given Abed's superior understanding of the trope, "Fourth Wall" keeps things simple with a positive message. And while we're not entirely certain what of the April 3 outing causes the group to imagine themselves in their animated splendor, executive producer Chris McKenna said of the homage:

[G.I. Joe] was something from our childhood that was very important to us and we had fond memories of it, and we thought it would be a cool way to do another animated episode. Like all Community episodes, it takes on a certain style. This one has a very specific story reason for it. I don’t want to give too much away, but our characters find themselves on a Wizard of Oz-type journey through the world of G.I. Joe. … There’s a mystery that Jeff in particular has to get to the bottom of.

We've included NBC's first sneak peek of "G.I. Jeff" above, so take a look and tell us what you want to see when the genre-hopping drama takes on real American heroes! Could the buzz of "Buzzkill" Britta be enough to sustain 'Community' through a sixth season, and its aspired-to movie?
