'The Expendables 3' will bring back our favorite team of action movie stars, including Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren and Jason Statham, to take on a new baddie of sorts. But which newcomers will be joining the fun on their upcoming excursion has been some area of speculation, with Jackie Chan being the latest to join the team, based on his previous statements. And with a production start date in the near future, Wesley Snipes is getting more attention thanks to fellow action hero Dolph Lundgren.

It's not the latest news hearing that Wesley Snipes is in the running to join up with the 'Expendables 3' crew, since his name has been thrown around a few times as of late. Dolph Lundgren recently spoke with MovieWeb, confirming the chatter:

I don't know anything for sure. I know...I have heard that they do want Wesley Snipes. They want Jackie Chan. Nicolas Cage, I have heard too. But we don't know want is going on just yet. All of those are pretty great names. They are good actors, and I think the fans would love to see them in there, with the rest of us, for sure. Yeah.

As far as the other two names, Jackie Chan and Nicolas Cage, Chan previously stated that Sylvester Stallone "did extend his invitation to the third movie," though apparently no official movie has been made. Cage is a worse source of confusion, as dueling and reportedly "out of context" statements from Stallone make his future with 'The Expendables 3' a cloudy one at best.

One new bit of info that Lundgren did let slip is the production start date for the new flick, which he says will likely start this fall despite the lack of a script or a director. Fan favorite Chuck Norris has expressed his disinterest in returning for 'The Expendables 3' as well, so do you think Snipes would make a nice addition to the team? Hopefully everything will fal into place so this fall 2013 production start won't become one for the following year.
