In Memoriam: Opie Winston, ‘Sons of Anarchy’

One of the series' most tragic moments occurred in the most recent season of 'Sons of Anarchy' when fan favorite character Opie chose to sacrifice his own life for his friends. Thanks to a deal with the villainous Pope, one member of SAMCRO had to die in an orchestrated prison fight, and since Jax and Clay had to stay alive in order for it to work, Opie chose to take the fall, suffering a horrific beating at the hands of four inmates with metal pipes. And this is why we don't join motorcycle gangs, kids.
