In Memoriam: Star-Burns, ‘Community’

In the 'Community' season three episode "Basic Lupine Urology" (a brilliant 'Law & Order'-themed episode), Alex "Star-Burns" Osbourne died when his car was rear-ended, setting off the makeshift meth lab in his trunk. Star-Burns was always a peripheral character, but one that delighted fans with his star-shaped sideburns, vests, and love of top hats. Dino Stamatopolous played the supporting role, but also worked as a consulting producer and writer on the show, and as it turns out, he was kind of tired of playing Star-Burns and wanted to get back to doing his real job behind the scenes, so he asked to be written out of the show. We can totally respect this death, and we're glad they found such a funny way to pull it off.
