Actress, writer and director Julie Delpy has her eyes on a pretty big prize for her next film: Woody Allen. The talented lady recently admitted in an interview that she'd like to cast the legendary director in her upcoming project, titled 'Virgo Rising.'

Delpy arguably plays a female version of Woody Allen in her films '2 Days in Paris' and the recent sequel, '2 Days in New York.' She's neurotic and endearing and a bit of a mess, just like someone else we know. And just like Delpy, Allen is also know for writing, directing and starring in his films. It sounds like the perfect match, no?

There's just one hitch: Allen doesn't often act in films for other directors. He will be seen in John Turturro's upcoming film 'Fading Gigolo,' which means there's a glimmer of hope for Delpy.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Delpy spoke of her new film 'Virgo Rising,' and her desire to cast Allen:

I wrote a movie, but maybe it’s bad. So I have to see. Maybe it’s not such a good film. It’s called 'Virgo Rising.' It’s very funny. But I don’t know if I’ll do it. I don’t know if I’ll ever dare to offer him the part.

Allen would actually be quite perfect in one of Delpy's films, and it would be fantastic to see him inhabit the world of another writer and director who has been inspired by his work.
